If women want to turn heads this winter, shouldn’t men be leading this race? We at label Shanu Chitlangiya think that a man’s wardrobe awaits the season! There’s so much to own and experiment when the temperature dips; suit jackets, bandhgalas, blazers, scarves, tweed jackets and so much more.
Everybody knows about the type-of-man-dress drill, but few know about the colours that men can sport or play around with. Trust us, it can make all the difference! One of the warmest colours this winter is the shade of red wine; we are talking about burgundy here. From knitted pullovers, to casual blazers, and even scarves, if you can contrast it smartly, you know the game. The khaki or camel colour, which some might say is drab and over-used, can be taken on a new level with a single or double-breasted over-coat. How you carry it, is how men stand-out amongst the boys. The colour orange, rather its volcano under-tone is to be watched out this winter. A volcano coloured pullover under a blue tweed jacket would do the trick for you subtly.
In the Indian wear, burgundy, gold, and navy blue rule the season. As for the details, just know the don’ts! Buying a bandhgala winter jacket with mindless embroidery that could make you wear it less often or much worse, make you look like a groom in somebody else’s wedding, is a bad idea. Also, the Indian genre for the winter men segment is much unexplored, and yet it is the most banal one too. Only trust yourself in the hands of a designer who isn’t afraid to experiment.
